Terms of Service

Short version: use ScanRead.ai to extract text from images and PDFs. Don't upload anything illegal or anything you don't have the right to. We process your files, delete them within 72 hours, and don't sell your data. If you pay for Pro or Unlimited, you can cancel anytime.

1. Using the service

By using ScanRead.ai you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country.

2. What you can upload

Only upload files you own or have permission to process. Don't upload content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property, contains malware, or is designed to harm others. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your content

You own what you upload. Source files are automatically removed within 72 hours. Extracted OCR text is kept in your account (if you have one) so you can view and re-download it. We do not train AI models on your files.

4. Plans and billing

Free, Pro, and Unlimited plans are billed as described on the pricing page. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your dashboard. Prices may change for new billing cycles with notice; your current period is not affected.

5. Availability and accuracy

The service is provided as-is. OCR accuracy depends on image quality; we don't guarantee any specific accuracy level. We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service.

6. Limits of liability

ScanRead.ai is not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost profits, data loss, downstream errors from misread text). Our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll notify account holders of material changes by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
